922743055_938265Perhaps it was expected that seven years into her marriage to a Man of God, ace musician, Akosua Agyapong would eventually grow spiritually to become a Woman of God. Well, she has and now she is a prophetess.

“I am blessed to have as a partner, a Man of God who apart from the love he has for my work as a musician, has also assisted me to develop in Christ to become a prophetess”, Akosua told Showbiz in Kumasi.

The Frema hitmaker said that that the way she dresses and performs on stage has not changed because her husband, Prophet Asamoah-Larbi, understands and indeed loves the work she does.

“Many had thought marrying him was going to affect my work as a musician. But, I still wear tight jeans and boots, and wriggle my waist on stage much to the delight of my husband.”

Akosua Agyapong, who is adept at sustaining her audience with her beauty and adorable stage appearance and energy said “I’m happy my husband loves my work.”

She however indicated that she makes sure that she does not dress to suggest any indecency.

Akosua Agyapong is married to Prophet Asamoah-Larbi of the House of God International Prayer Ministry and she emphasised that marriage is a long journey, which has no place for those who do not have love.

Born in Accra in 1964 she entered the music industry after her education at Holy Child Secondary in Cape Coast. She has a number of albums to her credit.

The first album Frema, which was released on January 1, 1990 has songs like Meye Obaa, Born Again, Anantuo and San Behwe Wo Mma.

Her latest album, Timeless which has been launched but yet to hit the market, has 15 songs.

They include Aware, Why Are You Sad, Emere Sen, My Redeemer Lives, Put Your Problems Aside, I Am Free and Oboadie Nyame.

Currently, Akosua is an ambassador for Breast Care International (BCI), a non-governmental organisation in Kumasi working against breast cancer.

Akosua who lost her mother to the dreaded disease is seriously using her music and performance to work to ensure that women stay free from the disease.

“I advise my fellow women to ensure that they report signs of the disease early to the health facilities for treatment and this is working to my satisfaction though there is still a lot of work to do.”
