Radio Presenter & Musician Pope Skinny Escapes Death

Reliable information gathered by Flex Newspaper indicates that Pope Skinny was at Akropong on Sunday August 11, 2013 to promote his new banger ”hot cake”.As should be expected, everything went on smoothly and had favorable response from his fans until he returned to Accra in the early hours of Monday August 12, 2013.When the young hiplife artiste got to Accra, he started having stomach upsets and felt it was just normal diarhoea and didn’t bother about it that much till his condition worsened.

He had to be rushed to the Achimota Terminal Hospital by some of his friends when they realized his condition was becoming very critical and life-threatening. Upon being examined, the doctor in charge (name not readily available) informed Pope Skinny that what he was experiencing wasn’t mere diarhoea but was a case of poisoning and would have died if he hadn’t been brought to the hospital. Pope Skinny was treated and later on in the evening discharged.

When Flex Newspaper got in touch with Pope Skinny, he confirmed the story. He was however in a state of shock as he could not understand why someone would want to kill him. He noted that he felt he was only experiencing stomach upset only to be rushed to the hospital when he realized he had gotten to the point of death.

‘My own mountains people wanted to kill me ooooo. I don’t know how it happened but I think my drink was poisoned. I came to Accra early in the morning but I wasn’t feeling fine. It started like running stomach. I nearly passed out when I got out of my car; that was when my friends rushed me to the hospital. I nearly died” were the words from Pope Skinny.

Just in the case of Pope Skinny, Flex Newspaper readers would also recall that some few months back, Barima Sidney also nearly died due to poisoning.
