Vodafone Icons: mixed edition begins auditions from Tamale

Music hopefuls in Tamale and surrounding communities will be the first to take part in live auditions for the second season of Vodafone ‘Icons Mixed Edition’ set to hit TV stations across the country soon.

The auditions, which take place at the Gariba Lodge on Friday 20th January, will offer males and females singers of Northern Ghana a golden opportunity to prove their music abilities before three judges: Gena West, Kwame Appiah aka ‘Apietus’ and Ms. Naa.

In order to audition, aspiring singers aged between 18-30 have to pre-register by sending their name, age and city to Vodafone shortcode 1738. Contestants can also get more from their big day through special audition tips, which they can also receive by texting ‘SUB ICONS’ to shortcode 1738.

Gena West is back as a judge for the Vodafone Icons Mixed Edition and says she is looking forward to the kick-off in Tamale: ‘I believe aspiring singers who turn up for the Tamale auditions will not disappoint us, as we scrutinize and recruit the best talents from the group of contenders. We encourage all music aspirants in Northern Ghana to come to the Gariba Lodge on Friday 20th January, for a chance to join the Icons Mixed Edition.’

Takoradi ‘ICONS’ hopefuls get their chance to audition on Friday 27th January at the Raybow Hotel; Kumasi on Saturday 4th February at Miklin Hotel; and finally in Accra on Saturday 12th February at the La Palm Hotel.
