Afia Schwarzenegger and Kennedy Agyapong controversy

Afia just knows how to create a stir in the system. Some say she is now meddling with political figures. My question to that is “who is not a politician in Ghana?”. The system is so corrupt to the point where free speech has no boundaries anymore. Also if the supposed political leaders play their role well, people like Afia will not be compelled to question them. The controversy circulating the radio and social media about Kennedy Agyapong and Afia Schwarzenegger should be a wake up call to the leaders.

Afia Schwarzenegger:

“I’m not saying Mahama is the best or worst president ever in the country but if you want to attack him, attack his governance but don’t accuse his mother and brother of selling drugs”.

“Kennedy Agyapong, Ghanaians want me to ask you the kind of work you do. At times, we are not able to tell people the truth straight in their face. Kennedy Agyapong what work do you do? That radio station which has collapsed? The station which I cannot tune in even though I stay around Madina?”

Kennedy Agyapong:

“Let me make this appeal to the Despite Group of Companies, you have set a standard, look at Afia Konadu, Kwame Sefa Kayi, Adwoa Yeboah Agyei, respectable people, Kwadwo Dickson, it is that standard that have made people to listen to every station in connection with Peace FM…don’t allow people to use your platform to do nonsense…,”

It is only fair for Kennedy to appeal to the Despite Group, however it does not negate the circumstance prevailing. Much as I am not in favour of Afia’s behaviour, it is important to note that Politics may eventually cost the nation if appropriate actions are not taken.
