Do you wonder how old is Rick Ross? Rick Ross was born on 28th January 1976 in Mississippi’s Coahoma County, and raised in the Carol City of Florida. Rick Ross’s age is now 42 and he is an entrepreneur and American rapper. Professionally popular by his on-stage name, the real name of Rick Ross is William Leonard Roberts II. Apart from his fame thanks to music, he is also known for his amazing and unique quotes. Below are some of his most popular quotes.

Rick Ross quotes

“Drug users made me. They taught me. I didn’t know how to work a scale; I didn’t know what a gram was. Drug users taught me the business. They’re going to teach it to the next guy, because they want a good drug dealer, one they can trust, one that’s not going to rob them, one that’s not going to cheat them out of their money, one that’s not going to sell them fake dope. That was me. They’re going to find another one because they’re going to be looking for that guy every single day until they find him.” – Rick Ross

Rick Ross does not hesitate in saying that he learnt to live from drug users. He never knew how to work but drug users taught him that. It is perhaps because they want somebody they can trust; one who would not sell them bad or fake stuff or rob them of their money. The drug users always keep looking for such people. Ross was one of those people. That is how he learnt about this world and its ways.

“If I had been literate, I wouldn’t have sold drugs. I just wanted a job. I would have worked at McDonald’s. And I would have put the same effort into the fries and mopping the floor that I would have put into drugs. I’m the kind of person that always wants to do a job the best I can. I don’t believe in half-doing jobs.” – Rick Ross

One of his direct statements, Rick says he would not have sold drugs if he were literate. If he only wanted any job, he could have worked at a brand like McDonald’s and would have applied the same kind of effort in making fries and cleaning the floor that he would put in drugs. He says he loves to do his best in a job because he does not like incomplete tasks.

“If you’re a hater we make you scared to show your face. It’s called success” –Rick Ross

This one has a funny note to it. When you reach the higher ground, the people who are jealous of your success will keep backbiting and try to bring you down. But haters try to hide as they continue spreading the hate. What Ross says here is that when haters are afraid to come up front and say all those to your face, and that cowardice of theirs means you have attained success.

“Living fast where it’s all about the money bags? Never front.” –Rick Ross

Let us admit it. Money has become an integral part of our lives. Our wants and behavior is also influenced by the need to earn for ourselves. Ross, with this quote, is asking us to not forget who we really are. Money may, no doubt, bring us opportunities in this fast lane, but we should always be true and humble.

“How many people you bless, is how you measure your success.” –Rick Ross

Lovely, is it not? There is a depth in this quote by Ross. Success comes by being good to others. Being able to help others is perhaps the biggest success of all. Remember, you can always make an impact on someone else’s life. Be kind to others and do well unto them.

“Regardless of how it goes down, life goes on.” –Rick Ross

A genuine and straightforward approach towards life; no matter what happens and whatever it is that goes on- good or bad, all your joy and sorrow, nothing will stop life from keeping its course. So, do not demotivate yourself even if life does not go the way you want it to, and keep marching forward.

“Love is for free, just expensive to shop.” –Rick Ross

Lost in thoughts? Trying to figure out whom you can share your love with? Does the quote not answer your question? Love is not hard to share. It is in fact, easy to fall in love when you come across the right person. What is hard is, finding that right person in life.

“Momma getting’ older feelin’ pains in her shoulder. I gotta stay focused and remain a little soldier.” –Rick Ross

It is the story in everybody’s lives. It is hard to imagine a world without a family. This quote speaks about the love of a child for his mother. When that phase of your life comes where your parents get old and they are not able to bear the burden on their shoulders, pick up the weight of the world on yours and take care of them; just like a soldier takes care of his country.

“Every boss started as a worker.” –Rick Ross

It is simple. The fact that you are checking out these quotes is because you are mature and understand what others say. Do not ever be disheartened because you have to start small. We all dream of big things but it takes time and effort to reach higher ground. Never back down from working hard because in doing so, you will someday make it to the top.

“Ambition is priceless. It’s something that’s in your veins.” –Rick Ross

Do you not dream of being someone who has achieved many good things in life? If you do, it means you are ambitious. And it is a want that runs in every individual’s veins just like blood. There is no point if you do not have any ambition in life.

“I’m very versatile and there’s nothing I really regret in my life. I’m excited with who I am and I’m just going to keep riding the waves.” –Rick Ross

This just shows how confident Ross is about himself. He calls himself versatile and says that he does not regret anything that he has done in life. He enjoys being himself. To him, life is like the unpredictable vast ocean, which waves he has been riding and will continue doing what he does.

“I just take everything one at a time and make sure everything I do is the best.” –Rick Ross

There is an important lesson to learn from this quote. There are many such instances where we try doing everything at once rather than being cautious. If you indulge yourself in too many things at once, it can become very hectic and you can end up making errors; definitely something one should avoid. Ross says he does his things one at a time and he see to it that what he does is the result of his very best efforts and dedication.

“I may not be a role model, but I most definitely could be a motivation for a lot of people in the hoods.” –Rick Ross

Despite being a big name on the industry, Ross’ modesty can be traced in this quote of his. He accepts the fact that one cannot be everybody’s idol. Even then, he can be the source of motivation for many others who follow his work or lifestyle.

“You gotta judge a man by his principles.” –Rick Ross

People like to judge others. It is a natural habit which can sometimes be very misleading. We should never judge others by their looks or possession. Instead, we may judge another by their behavior and principles.

“Woman is the most precious gift known to man.” –Rick Ross

As long as you are looking past the quote, you might stay confused about what this quote intends to imply. There can be different opinions about this quote, but you need to see the worldly idea behind it. It is very much a theoretical idea as it is scientific. But without women, this world would probably not even exist. Respect women because they are the most valuable gift to mankind and our very life is dependent on them.

“Forget yesterday, live for today. Tomorrow will take care of itself.” –Rick Ross

This quote refers to a very practical approach towards life. Never stick to memories and regrets. Yesterday is gone; stop worrying about what went by, and make the best out of the present. In that way, your tomorrow will also be the least of your worries. Every tomorrow becomes a today.

Rick Ross and his rise to stardom

Ross drifted towards street oriented music made by big-shot rappers such as Tupac Shakur, Ice Cube, Luther Campbell, and Notorious BIG. He came up with his stage-name from the stories of a drug-lord called “Freeway” Rick Ross; whose life story managed to grab him.

Did you know Ross had the job of a corrections officer? It may sound a little strange but it is true. He worked for almost 2 years in Florida but it seems like the temptation of a leisurely lifestyle and his love for hip-hop took him another way. He resigned from the post of corrections officer in 2017.

Rick had already made his debut on a compilation project by Erick Sermon, an erstwhile EPMD member in the year 2000. The compilation was named Def Squad Presents Erick Sermon, in which Ross appeared on the track “Ain’t Shhh to Discuss” as Tephlon.

He was signed to the rap-label Suave Records; this independent Southern label can be linked with 8Ball & MJG, the well-known underground duo. Ross later signed to Slip-N-Slide which is a record label based in Miami. This label released songs by hip-hop artists such as Trick Daddy and Trina.

His second studio album “Trilla” which released in 2008 also started at #1. Ross gained a lot of popularity and started touring and collaborating with prominent artistes like Flo-Rida, R. Kelly, T-Pain, and Nelly.

“Deeper than Rap”, Ross’ third album, in 2009, was highly praised, with The New York Times making the review “unexpectedly fantastic, by far his best. Few rap albums have sounded this assured, this sumptuous, in years.”
