Buk Bak And Keche Set to Perform At Agbeko Homecoming World Title Fight

A special entertainment package put together by GoldenMike Promotions Syndicate will provide a side attraction when Ghana’s Joseph Agbeko mounts the ring against Michael Domingo of the Philippines on May 26 for the International World Boxing Organisation (IBO) bantamweight title in Accra.

Hip-life artistes Buk Bak and Keche will add spice to Agbeko’s homecoming world title fight with performance expected to blend boxing with showbiz on Ghana’s first hosting of a world boxing title fight in 23 years – since Azumah Nelson stopped Brazilian Sidnei Dal Rovere in three rounds in Accra.

The May 26 fight has been slated for the El-Wak Stadium in Accra, a venue wide enough to accommodate a showbiz performance, and the fight organisers said the mood of the country and the continent had informed the need to bring boxing and hip-life performances onto the same stage.

The fight on Saturday, May 26 comes on the heels of AU Day on May 25, a national holiday in Ghana, and Michael Tetteh, head of GoldenMike Promotions, told Daily Graphic that it was their intention to make Ghanaians enjoy the occasion to the highest limit.

Agbeko, 32, is already a two-time world boxing champion who held the IBF bantamweight belt and now seeks to emulate Azumah Nelson as Ghana’s only other three-time world champion.
