Garden city dazzles at MTN Hitmaker auditions
It was an amazing time discovering talent in Takoradi and Kumasi promised an even exciting time. The Hitmaker audition train made a stop in Kumasi and it was a massive answer to the call.
The hype was all over social media and the airwaves, Kumasi promised the judges a showdown and a showdown it was!
Almost 200 contestants representing various genres turned up. Kumasi was the whole package but the rappers turned up in their numbers rather surprisingly.
Kumasi is noted for being the hub of gospel music in Ghana hence the expectation that more gospel musicians will turn up but the team received a pleasant surprise, the other genres stepped up in what appears to be an attempt to redefine Kumasi as a hub of music of all genres and not just gospel.
The judges had to painstakingly listen to almost 200 contestants, it was a daunting task but Magnom, Kaywa and Richie knew what they wanted and they were strict about it.
They wanted class, style, creativity and uniqueness that is the Hitmaker standard and they were certainly not going to dilute it.
After many hours of listening to talents that left them spellbound to talents that made them angry to talents that made them laugh so hard they fell off their seats, the judges decided that 43 contestants possessed the Hitmaker character, out of the lot they were the contestants who stepped up in confidence and dazzled the judges.
If you missed the audition team in Takoradi and Kumasi, you have only one last chance to be a Hitmaker. It’s the last call to action and its happening on the 4th of July in Accra at the GhOne Entertainment Studios.

Step one, simply log on to www.mtnplay.com.gh register and upload a demo if you have one. You can also send your demo via WhatsApp on 0553932258 or drop it off at any MTN office.

Step two, gather your confidence, psyche yourself up, believe in yourself and prepare to break out.
Step three, catch the audition team in Accra, step in front of the microphone, break out and be who you wanna be.
After the impressive show of talent in Kumasi, Accra will definitely have to gear itself up to top all the previous auditions centers.
