559375230_322201African Telecommunication giants Glo is set to start audition processes for the maiden edition of the X-Factor in Ghana.

The audition stage for the reality music competition, which has gained a lot of prominence in the United States and other parts of the world, will be held in Kumasi and Accra on May 4 and 11 respectively.

Qualified contestants from Ghana will join others selected from similar exercises in key Nigerian states. Winner of the music reality show will get a recording contract with Sony Music and a cash of $150,000.

“This year marks the 10th anniversary of our operations and this program is, in part, our modest way of thanking our subscribers for their loyalty and patronage.

The unprecedented top prize is a reflection of the premium status of the program; this is in addition to the coveted Sony Music contract with the attendant post-season super star status for the winner and international stardom,” Sulyman Bello, Head of Reality Shows at Glo indicated.

Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that Hip life legend Reggie Rockstone has been selected as one of the judges to represent Ghana at the show. Rockstone will reportedly be taking home about $500,000 for being a judge on the show.

Glo X-Factor Africa has been crafted to search for new singing talent, solo or a group, aged 12 and over.
