Gospel Musician Joyce Yeboah Preaches Peace

A UK-based Ghanaian gospel musician, Joyce Yeboah, who has three albums to her credit, has called on Ghanaians to desist from acts that seek to undermine upcoming general election.

In a telephone interview with BEATWAVES, Joyce said Ghana was a very beautiful country of great people and it was extremely important that every effort was made to protect the peace of the country, adding “we must on a daily basis drum home the need for peace, especially in this very crucial year of elections.”

She urged Ghanaians to focus their energies on things that would enhance their future and added that one sacred responsibility of every Ghanaian was to protect the country’s peace since whatever affected one, directly affected all.

Joyce Yeboah believed that as a musician, she even felt more burdened to play a major and significant role in this process and called on her fellow musicians to throw their support behind every activity organised to promote peace in the country.

The UK-based Ghanaian singer was in the country to release her third album which was recorded by Nacy and Roland.

The release of her third album, ‘Onyame Kokroko’ was in fulfilment of a cherished dream in her career, which had all along been linked to gospel music. Though it was her third album, Joyce was no novice in the music industry, having had stints with very notable musicians.

Joyce’s music career started over a decade ago and her performance with some top musicians in Ghana spurred her on to take up music.

Having sung for several years, Joyce had the voice and demeanour that appeals to both Christians and non-Christians alike and the content of her songs were really inspirational.

The CD album which has ten tracks had been equipped with good traditional beat and backing vocals, making most of the songs on the album irresistible.

It talked of the need for one to keep in touch with God because there were times the absence of God prevented her from carrying out her daily activities.

She told BEATWAVES that as a young enterprising gospel music star, she intended to use her music to educate people about Christ and also win souls for Him. Talk of lyrics, arrangements, instrumentation, sound quality, and the album was second to none.

“I have been amazed at how well songs on the album have been received so far. I was on some local radio stations recently and the number of calls I had that day indicated that my songs were going down well with listeners.”
