Hitz Fm Re-Jigs It’s Programmes

Ghana’s premier entertainment station, Hitz 103.7, has revamped its programming to delight both its listeners and advertisers as it shifts its content to the next level.

Management of the station has introduced a few changes in its line up to spice up the station’s programming.

For the lunch time listener, a new show dubbed ‘Easy Listening’ has been added to the lineup. This is a contemporary highlife show presented by arguably one of the finest DJs in the country today, DJ Awana aka Samuel Tei Nartey.

The show runs from 1 to 3pm and apart from the great contemporary highlife he plays, the show is spiced with skits and clips from the world of comedy and movies to provide a total entertainment package for the listener. According to DJ Awana, the show offers him an opportunity to display the skills he’s best known for, serving great hit music without frills just for the thrills.

For regular listeners of the station who enjoy listening to Lexis on ‘Daybreak Hitz’, the party just got swankier…..the show, which can be said to be the fastest growing in the capital today, continues to spring surprises. As part of celebrating the globalised culture of the world today, the show brings the independence celebrations of countries to life by hosting the ambassadors of nations celebrating their independence. So far, the show has played host to the ambassadors of Australia and Zimbabwe and Lexis says it’s just an indication of the good things to come on the show.

To spruce up ‘Taxi Driver’, the show has been reduced by an hour, running from 10 to 1pm to make it tighter and more potent with Blakk Rasta running his idiosyncratic social commentary. As we approach the election year, the show will assess the politics of the country but in a style that will appeal to all sides of the political divide without appearing to antagonize any party. It will be quality entertainment with a social agenda of nation building.

‘Cruise Control’ with Kwame B starts from 3 till 7pm and will continue to serve the finest hits around with the usual witty and fun presenting that has become Kwame B’s trademark. A novelty on the show is the addition of 6 @ 6, where Kwame plays the six favorite tunes selected by his listeners. Of course this comes with the usual segments on the show.

DJ Laposta then comes up after ‘Cruise Control’ at 7pm and runs till 10, after which DJ Haglah, the DJ with a gentle swagger, comes on with ‘Hitz Slow Jam’, where he serves some great lovers rock or mellow R&B.

Another addition to the lineup of shows on the station is ‘Hitz Chartshow’ presented by Reindolf Ofosu aka Gbalagazaa on Saturday from 12 to 2 pm, where he serves a mix of  Ghanaian, West African and American charts as well as throws the spotlight on a mega act in Ghana.

As the PD Ahuma Bosco Ocansey puts it, the best is yet to come from Hitz FM.
