I Charge GH¢15,000 For A Show – Okyeame Kwame

Rapper Okyeame Kwame has also followed suite disclosing that he also charges GHc10,000 to GHc15,000 per show. The charge, he said, is due to the fact that he uses live band for his performances.

Most Ghanaian musicians have not inculcated the habit of performing with a live band, but Okyeame Kwame, Efya, Samini and few other musicians has started with this act. Most musicians mime along with the disc being played.

He made it known that ever since he started playing live band music for the past three years, it has affected most of his contracts, sponsorships and endorsement positively.

When asked of the number of times he rehearses, he said he only rehearses when he has a program. He rehearses a whole month for the show.

The Best rapper Alive(BRA) who was in Kumasi to promote his album The Versatile Show said, the 14-track album features a mix of genres like pop music, highlife, jazz, soul music, hiplife, hip hop and the almighty azonto. It also features, Efya, Kesse, Caroline, Raquel, Pat Thomas’ daughter Nana Yaa, Irene and others.

He is set to launch the album on July 28, which is world hepatitis B day, at Kejetia, Kumasi.

According to the Woso star, “Nowadays, azonto is reigning, on the other side Stone’s rap is becoming tight, and Sarkodie … I’m not afraid because where I am, I’m the only one there so am safe,” The Rap Doctor said.
