Kaaki, Samini, for MTN Hit-Maker final
This year’s MTN Hit-Maker music talent show has so far provided lots of thrills for television viewers and Friday, November 28, has been announced as the date for the final showdown at the Accra International Conference Centre.
Big-time acts often share the stage with the wannabes at the final bash. This year, the guest artistes include Kaaki, Samini and VVIP.
Others are Koo Ntakara and Cano-Z, winner and runner-up, respectively, of last year’s contest; actor and comedian Lilwin and rapper Kofi Kinaata.
The guest artiste most likely to arouse intense interest among the audience at the show is Kaaki. She had been on the quiet for a while but gave a formidable performance at the last MTN Legends and Legacy Ball in Accra.
Looking trimmer, she put aside her usual dancehall act and sang a lot more. She also made good use of the whole stage and danced to show how much lighter she felt. No wonder the audience loved her on the night.
There are six contestants still in contention for the GH¢100,000 recording deal but two of them would be evicted for the remaining four to battle it out at the MTN Hit-Maker final show.
Hopeful of winning the top prize are Mac-M, Snow B, Torgbe, Mina, Naba and Emperor who came in as a wild card a fortnight ago.
“It has been a thrilling season so far,” says judge Bessa Simons. “The contestants have shown reasonable talent and we trust those who make it to the final would really be the best four of the lot.”
The MTN Hit-Maker airs on Saturdays on TV3, eTV, GH One and 4Syte TV from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. The programme is repeated on Sundays on Metro TV and Multi TV’s Cine Afrik channel from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
