Kwasi Ernest Wins “Best Gospel Producer” Award

Chief Executive of Media Excel Productions Ernest Kwasi Ennin has been adjudged the Executive Producer of the Year at the second edition of the Ghana Gospel Industry Awards held at the Accra International Conference Centre last week.

His outfit was also adjudged Best Record Label. Ernest Ennin, who is a music producer, song writer, artiste manager, set designer, event planner and a music consultant, has played a very important role in the development of Ghanaian music and artiste management in Ghana.

Mr. Ennin has worked both in Europe and Africa and is heavily respected in the area of event organizing and planning

His outfit, Media Excel, has undertaken a number of projects and events to help promote the local gospel music industry in Ghana, and has contributed significantly to the success of some Ghanaian gospel musicians including Stella Dugan, Georgia Adjei, Azizigaza Junior, Piesie Esther, Gifty Osei, King David, Becca, Praye, Cecilia Marfo, DSP Kofi Sarpong, among others.

Kwesi Ennin has brought change to the gospel music business, with active campaign for musicians to use contracts for all their musical dealings. He has also campaigned for gospel musicians to earn the same secular musicians, and to get endorsements as corporate ambassadors and brands.

Currently, he is working as the technical director for MUSIGA to build a financial credit module from Midland Financial Services, to be accessed by musicians for the production of their works.

When the module is complete, studio engineers, event organizers and musicians can access quick collateral-free loans to produce, buy and record songs.

Ernest will soon be travelling to 10 African countries to negotiate for marketing and distribution avenues for musical works as a starting line for creating available market for Ghanaian musicians.

Some of his projects include Bernice Offei’s seminar for corporate women, Bernice Offei’s @ 30 musical concert, and Lizzy Okrah and Princess Ivy’s album.

He also produced the 90th musical concert for Professor J.H. Kwabena Nketia, and a concert for the veteran Akosua Adjepong for her 20th anniversary in the music industry.
