Maame Akua Hosts Abrabo On Asempa Fm

After joining the radio industry a couple of years ago, there was no turning back for Maame Akua of Asempa FM.

Her activities on radio have probably inspired many people to consider a career in radio.

Since her entry into radio, Maame has won the hearts of a myriad of radio listeners in Accra and its environs, making her a household name.

She is the host of the most-listened to programme, ‘Abrabo’, which airs from Monday to Thursday between 10:00 am and 12:30 pm. She is also a co-host of Adom TV’s morning show, ‘Bedwam’ on Multi TV.

Maame Akua is a committed radio personality who is passionate about the well being of people, especially women and children, and is also concerned about improving the quality of life of people.

She has, through her widely-listened-to talk show, ‘Abrabo’, helped resolve family issues and support others.

‘Abrabo’ is a social magazine programme on Asempa 94.7FM . It is one of the pillars of the business unit, which is primarily a sports station.  It has segments that deal with victims of abuse of any form, and has lawyers and doctors on the show who educate listeners on issues that affect their everyday lives.

Maame has a diploma in radio journalism from the City College in London, as well as a BSC in Communication Studies from the London Metropolitan University, Algate East.

Whilst studying she worked with a Ghanaian-based radio station in East London (HOT FM U.K).

Presently, she is with Asempa FM (94.7), fronting their social midmorning programme ‘Abrabo’ which airs from Monday to Thursday from 10:00am -12:30pm, and co-hosts Adom TV’s morning show (BEDWAM) on Multi TV.

Maame Akua is also the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Mamiakua Foundation, whose core aim is to care for the venerable, domestic violence victims, HIV and AIDS patients, among others.
