Miss Ghana Queens Support Benita

910371550_321599Miss Ghana 1997 and Deputy Minister designate for Children, Gender and Social Protection, Benita Sena Okiti-Dua, received massive support from colleague beauty queens at her vetting last week.

The beauty queens, Mrs Manuela Medie Adu, Miss Ghana (1995); Efia Owusuaa Marfo, Miss Ghana (1998); and the reigning Miss Ghana, Naa Okailey Shooter, were in Parliament House as early as 8am to chat with Benita Sena Okiti-Dua, telling her she can rely on them in time of need.

“We congratulate her as minister designate for Children, Gender and Social Protection and we strongly believe she can do her work well. We are happy that a former Miss Ghana is making us proud today,” the beauty queens told Showbiz.

Excited to see the past queens in attendance, Benita gave the vetting her all, intelligently answering all the questions that were thrown at her.

A hardworking individual with a lot of passion for women and children, Benita became Miss Ghana in 1997, beating some 19 other contestants to the title. She took to fashion and design after her reign and has since built an incredible clientele over the years.

Last year, she became the first ever beauty queen to enter Ghana’s Parliament, beating some six other contestants to win the Ledzokuku Constituency seat in the Greater Accra Region for the ruling NDC.
