MUSIGA to hold Central regional elections Wednesday

The Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) will hold the last of its regional elections in the Central Regional Wednesday, July 11.

The election is part of regional elections organized by MUSIGA to elect new executives to man the affairs of the musicians’ body in the regions.

There are six positions being contested for the in the Central region namely, Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, Welfare and Organizer.

Two contestants, George William Dickson and Robert Techi Menson, are vying for the Chairmanship slot hoping to replace out-going Chairman Mr. Victor Owusu who is now the National Welfare Officer of MUSIGA.

In all 132 musicians will taking part in the voting exercise at the Heritage Club which will be supervised by the Electoral Commission.

MUSIGA National Coordinator, Sebastian Ampah told Myjoyonline.com in an interview that all is set for smooth elections which will start at 10 am and end at 5pm.

The elections will be supervised by a team of executives from the MUSIGA Head Office led by Bessa Simons, who is the second Vice President.

The regional elections which have taken place around the country is following the National Congress in Tamale where the current crop of national executives, led by Bice Osei Kuffour popularly known as Obour, were elected.
