PHOTOS: Inside the Hotel where Ada’s ‘abduction’ and ‘rape’ occurred

imagesAdomonline.com brings to readers exclusive pictures and inside details of the hotel where the alleged rape and torture of Y FM presenter, Adaeze Onyinyechie Ayoka also known as Ms Ada is said to have occurred.

Located close to the Central Mosque on the Accra–Korle Bu mortuary road in Accra, the Joeregi Hotel is among the few rest stops that offer accommodation to travelling businessmen in that part of Ghana’s capital.

Ms Ada went missing for almost a week in the Western Region but news broke on Tuesday that she was abducted and sexually abused by a gang of five.

She was later found at the GHAPOHA hospital in Takoradi with subsequent revelations indicating that she is a Ghanaian from Akim Oda in the Eastern Region.

The Accra Police Command which has assumed control of the case said at a press conference in Accra that the incident actually occurred at a hotel in Abossey Okai in Accra.

The Joeregi hotel is sited in a two storey building with concrete roofing which indicates the possible addition of another block in the near future.

Persons seeking to patronize its services are mandated to use a red painted staircase which leads to its reception that also serves as a bar.

As evident in the first pictures that appeared of the alleged torture and rape, the floor of the entire hotel including the reception and the rooms are tiled.

A single entrance which leads to the corridors where the hotel rooms are also acts as the exit point for all visitors that check into the rooftop hotel.

The ground floor of the hotel is full of stores which deal in Spare Parts and coffins.

Cost of rooms in the hotel

Adomonline.com investigations at the hotel revealed that rooms are normally charged per night.

“It would cost you GHC 50.00 to take a room for a night…however if you want it for an hour, you will have to pay an amount of GHC 25.00 for that…,” a receptionist said.

The constant direct rays of the morning sun unto the corridor of the hotel, has forced operators to hang banners on the corridors to provide some shade.

Greater Accra Regional Police PRO, Effia Tengey at a press conference Thursday said the police have been to the location as part of their investigations.

She also revealed that one of the persons suspected to have played a key role in the entire saga, Nelson Williams has been arrested and is helping the police with the investigations.
