Sonnie Badu records new live album in US

imagesInternationally-acclaimed Ghanaian gospel music star, Sonnie Badu is set to raise his career several notches higher on November 1  with a concert and  live recording of his fourth album in the  United States.

It will happen at the New Psalmist Baptist Church in  Baltimore, Maryland and sources close to Sonnie Badu say about 300 people will fly from London to Baltimore  to be a part of that special event.

The recording, dubbed “African Gospel in Classical Hymns and Songs,” would feature two top American gospel artistes: Jonathan Nelson and Darwin Hobbs.

The album would be recorded by Danny Duncan, the renowned and award-winning American sound engineer who has also recorded music for other gospel greats like  Israel Houghton, Cece Winnans and Marvin Sapp.

Other artistes scheduled to perform at the concert are Jumbo, Dare David, Blessing Ali and Jamel. One of Nigeria’s finest comedians, Jedi will be the emcee for the night.

Meanwhile, Sonnie Badu and his team  have  moved from their London base to America in preparation for the concert and live recording.

As part of the hype towards the concert, Sonnie Badu  has released short excerpts of videos and some pictures on all his social media platforms to inform his fans of what to expect from the American event.

He has also posted titles of some of the songs he has composed for the upcoming album.

The singer also hinted to his fans that his famous ‘Baba’ song would also be rendered in French featuring Jonathan Nelson.

“This historic concert promises to be the best from Sonnie Badu,” a member of his management team said.
