Stonebwoy wins AFRIMMA 2015 awards
Dancehall artiste, Stonebwoy seems to be going higher and higher. After winning the Artiste of the Year at Ghana Music Awards 2014, BET- Best African Artiste, last Saturday, the Baafira hitmaker has added yet another award to his credit.
He was adjudged Best Dancehall Artist at 2015 edition of African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA)held last Saturday at Texas, USA. AFRIMMA seeks to celebrate musical talent across the African continent.
Stonebwoy, who received three nominations at this year’s awards, beat fellow artiste Shatta Wale, and other African artistes, Timaya (Nigeria), MC Norman (Uganda), Wax Dey (Cameroon), Dr. Jose Chameleon (Uganda), Patoranking (Nigeria) and Buffalo Soldier (Zimbabwe) to win the Best Dancehall Artist award.
Among the night’s biggest winners were Tanzanian artiste Diamond Platnumz who won Best Male East Africa, Afrimma Video of The Year and the biggest award of the night, African Artiste of the Year.
The ceremony apart from awards, witnessed exciting performances from some of the continent’s biggest acts including Davido, Kcee and Yemi Alade.
The event, hosted by African comedy king, Basketmouth and East Africa comedy queen, Anne Kansiime, recognised and awarded several other musicians from Africa and around the globe for their contribution to African music.
