Students Like Porn Newspapers

A survey conducted by the Publisher newspaper shows that most students are interested in reading news items that have sexual or love imprints than other stories. More than 650 people participated in the survey ranging from undergraduates, graduates, alumnae etc.

The survey notes that newspapers known for their political and business coverage did not “fare as well.” The students buy the papers with naked women or those that talk about sex or love than any,” a news vendor at the University of Legon said

For the vendor at the Accra Polytechnic, “the elderly people usually buy the political and other business newspapers, but for most of the students, they either buy either the entertainment ones or any paper that puts naked people on the front page – ladies showing their breast and others sell a lot.

The response from the news vendor at the Africa University college of Communications was not different from others, though he explained that the students don’t buy the political papers because they hear the stories on radio.

Papers like Ebony, Desire, News One and others are the favourite of most students, the survey revealed. A student at the University of Legon said, “well, I don’t know about how people buy those papers, but what I know is that, when you see plenty students at the newsstands, it means they have seen a nude picture of something that is interesting.
