TORN BETWEEN CAREER AND BOYFRIEND; THE DILEMMA OF AN ACTRESS

The actress who has been dating her boyfriend for the past three years told Showbiz on Saturday that, her boyfriend has given her an option to stop acting or he walks out of the relationship.

“I know that I play romantic roles better than most actresses and movie producers have come to accept me for that. I don’t know what to do now because I am making some good money from movies”, she said.

Benedicta has played in movies such as Me Nua, Mirror Girl, The Promise, Most Wanted Girls, What a Shock, The Best Man and Boame.

“I have tried to make him understand that the nature of my job requires me to take up any role the producers ask me to and because I am good at playing romantic roles, the producers always want me to play such roles.

“Truth be told, I cannot leave my boyfriend who has helped me so much and neither can I abandon my movie career. We have argued about this for quite some time now but I pray the worst does not happen,” she said.

What if her boyfriend walked away because he could no longer take it, Benedicta said she would be disappointed in her guy because this is not an issue which should lead to a break-up.

According to her, a man should be willing to accept his partner and be with her in times of need but not to give her an option and make her confused.

Away from her love-life, the beautiful actress who won Best Supporting Role and Discovery of the Year at the 2013 Kumawood Awards said she has plans of establishing her own production house.

“In a few years to come, I think I will be producing my own movies. Getting the experience as an actress for five years and knowing the ins and outs of the system, I believe I would not have much of a problem if I decide to produce my own movies”.

Benedicta who admires actresses, Emelia Brobbey, Vivain Jill and Nana Ama McBrown, said she has just finished three new movies which will hit the market soon.
