Video: UK-based Gospel musician Jojo De-Mens releases ‘Fakye’

UK-based Ghanaian Gospel musician Ernest Kojo Mensah, known is showbiz as Jojo De-Mens, has released an exciting video for his song ‘Fakye’ (Forgive).

The musician explained in a statement that the song was inspired by trying times in his life.

“This song came to me at a time when I was broken and torn, desperate for the healing hand of God. I got home from work one evening with a very heavy heart, and as I tried to find an explanation or reason for the heaviness, I came up empty.

“When I prayed, the word ‘sin’ kept playing on repeat in my mind and still this heaviness remained. I found solace in the word of God when I read Psalms 51:4 which reads; “against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightiest be justified when thou ‘speakest’, and be clear when thou ‘judgest’”.

He added that “After reading, I went and sat behind my keyboard, playing around with words and rhyme all the while praying for forgiveness. 1John 1:8 said ‘If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sin he is faithful and just to forgive our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” and as I directed my prayer, my healing begun which birthed the words of Forgive (fakye) and the song came out.

“When the song was set I felt liberation and I thank God for victory. The Lord ministered to me further, that in order to live a continuously victorious life away from sin, I had to keep Christ in my heart always for He alone is the certainty from disintegration.

“I visited the song again, taking it from where I left off, then the other side of the song came in, which said Jehovah we need you, I thank God for everything. After I recorded the song with a wonderful man of God, Koda, I played it to some close relatives and close friends of mine, they advise I add a verse to the song, which I did but was not comfortable with it after I had prayed again about it so I left it as it was giving.”
