AFRIMA 2018: Guilty Beatz Grabs Two Awards With Popular ‘Akwaaba’ Song

Popular Ghanaian music producer, Guilty Beatz has won two awards at the just ended All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA).

The 2018 edition of the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) came off on Saturday, November 24.

The grand event, which took place at the Accra International Conference Centre saw many personalities across the African continent being awarded for their immense contribution towards the African entertainment industry.

Amongst winners for the night is Guilty Beatz, who dropped the popular ‘Akwaaba’ song, accompanied with a viral dance earlier this year.

He won the “Best African Collaboration” and “Song of the Year” awards on the night.

Guilty beatz however beat tough competitors such as;

Tiwa Savage (Nigeria), Balti (Tunisia), DJ Moh Green (Algeria/Cameroon), DJ

Spinall & Wizkid (Nigeria), Fally Ipupa (DRC), Maitre Gims (DRC/France), Major Lazer & DJ

Maphorisa (South Africa), Nasty C & Runtown (South Africa/Nigeria), Revolution & Magic

System (Cote d’Ivoire) and Sauti Sol & Patoranking (Kenya/Nigeria) to clinch the

“Best African Collaboration”.

The night also saw Dancehall artiste, Stonebowy being crowned the “Best Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year.”

Meanwhile, visuals for Shatta Wale’s ‘Gringo’ also emerged the “Best African Video of the year”.
