19 Medical Doctors Infected With COVID-19 As Nurses Run For Their Lives.

Information available to our outfit has it that 19 medical doctors of the Tamale Teaching Hospital have tested positive for Covid-19 with one in a critical condition and receiving treatment at the facility.

The Director of Medical Affairs of the Tamale Teaching Hospital, Dr Abass Adam who confirmed this to the news portals revealed a total of 32 health workers have contracted COVID-19 in the said facility with fear looming everywhere.

The Director added that the 32 health workers involved include 19 doctors, 12 nurses and one other person in her late years of life.

The Director further said most of them have been treated and duly discharged while others are still receiving treatment.

“Eighty health workers of the facility who were exposed have been tested but the results came out negative,” he opined.

“We the health workers do not wear PPEs when we are working at the facility unless when a patient is tested positive meaning if we are not aware a patient is harbouring the virus when they are brought in because we will start treating them as normal patients who have come for medical care so we are really at risk”, another source said.
