Two eSports teams, all based in Accra have joined partnership with maiden GameX Triathlon Accra, 2013 to be held at the Lizzy’s Sports Complex, East Legon in August, 2013.

The teams, Virtual Union (VU) and Gamers Republic (GR), say their aim to be part of the event which seeks to promote video games in general, believe that they could add a different dimension in terms of entertainment value and diversity to the program.

The letter categorically states that since the program is focused on playing FIFA 2013 competition, “we are making a commitment to fully register 10 gamers from eSports teams for the FIFA 2013 event”.

It listed as gamers for Virtual Union: Rost Markcus (PSN: rostbreakers-gh) Jamal Mensah (PSN: Azonto ghost), Rozak Opoopcan ( PSN: Opoopcan), Nii Laryea( PSN: bralaryea) and Kobina Ewusie Mensah( PSN: OLDsoljja, XboxLive GT: Van Classic).

Constituting Gamers Republic are Selase Brown, Nana Yaw Boampong, Leslie Aidoo, Aubrey Aidoo and Naynard Aidoo.

To back their commitment to support the event, they are offering logistics including 4 Sony PS3 Consoles; 4 Samsung LED/LCD Screens; 2 Injustice; Gods Among Us CDs; Mortal Combat 9 CDs and miscellaneous items.

Also on offer are 1 Call of Duty Black Ops II CD; 2 FIFA 13 CDs; Ultimate Marvel vrs. Capoom CD III and Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Solution CD.

These would be available to streamline and facilitate activities and discretions of the organizers as GameX Triathlon is an evening social event created to provide a relaxing environment after working hours. It is a gaming entertainment platform that offers a one-stop leisure centre for the youth, adults and the general working class.

Alongside the maiden event which would run for three consecutive Fridays, August 2nd, 16th and 30th, 2013 will be poetry (spoken word performance) Karaoke sessions and celebrity game shows.
