31st Night Doom Prophecies – What Saith Thou ?

In our various religious divides, we’ve believed in so many things that have always been in existence.

In Ghana, Christianity is equal to what our spiritual leaders say, and, it’s final…

During the last day of every year, there is a popular vigil held to usher in the new year (some call it cross over, others name it differently).

From time immemorial, popular prophets, pastors, evangelists or whatever titles they so hold have compiled list of citizens who are suppose to lose their lives on every 31st Night church service.

I stress on the word some because it’s not attributable to all men of God in the country since I have never heard Archbishop Duncan William, Pastor Mensa Otabil or other notable pastors prophesying deaths over others.

With those who prophesy death, popular amongst them are Rev. Isaac Owusu Bempa and some few others who indulge in this form of doom prophecies.

In my “irrelevant candid opinion”, I feel that no individual via spiritual or any other realm has the right to predict or pronounce death on others.

When, how and where a person dies is the exclusive knowledge – only available to the Supreme Being and must be held in sacred. Besides such doom prophecies cause undue fear and panic amongst the populace.

How would you work harder if you’ve been told that you have less than 2 months to leave the surface of the earth? Many will sit aloof !
