35th Farmers Day To Be Marked Tomorrow

The argument of which specific job is the most important in the world has really gone round for so many years now and we seem to always settle on these two – Farming and Teaching.

The former, as practitioners, provide one of the basic necessities of life – food and the latter, as practitioners, transfer knowledge into the younger generation which is also another indispensable act.

For now, farmers are the talk of town since Ghanaians would be marking their specially designated day tomorrow.

On the floor of parliament today, all the Members of Parliament – from both factions unanimously lauded the unique efforts of farmers towards the economic progress of the country.



As their 35th anniversary draws closer, the MPs praised our gallant farmers for doing so well with little or no support from government and most banks. They cited the rapid growth of cocoa which has catapulted the country into the second place after Cotê d’Ivoire in the ‘world cocoa growing country chart’.

Haruna Iddrisu further urged all farmers to adopt a more modernised farming practice for their farming to improve themselves towards the Planting for food agenda.
