fixing a tie

81562937It is evident that some Ghanaian amles dislike putting on a tie preferring to take it easy with their trousers and shirt but should you decide to compliment your shirt with tie you could consider the Windsor tie, if for nothing at all some ladies have a thing for such ties.

Trends come and go but dressing with tie has its high points especially when corporate Ghana still views wearing a tie with jacket as formal and standard code of dressing for men.

A sizeable number of men do not like wearing jackets and ties because of the discomfort they experience but factoring in the right body type can make the job easier especially when the tie is fixed at 3 inches at its widest.

For bigger guys, big ties do wonders however tie width should be proportional to suits or shirt width.

The thinner the tie, the less formal it becomes, so if you’re trying to rock the casual tie, pick one that’s on the slim side.

Windsor tie is one of the simplest ways of fixing a tie and it looks especially well on men with longer necks as its wide form shortens the perceived height of the neck. This form of tie has a thick knot which is best suited for spread collar shirts and it’s actually quite easy to do.

It would therefore be your knot of choice for presentations, job interviews and courtroom appearances.

Tips for fixing a Windsor tie

To tie the Windsor knot, select a necktie of your choice, stand in front of a mirror and then simply follow the steps below:

Cross the wide end over the narrow, then slip the wide end up between the tie and the collar, then simply drop it back down.

Wrap the wide end behind the narrow end from right to left. Bring the wide end in front and over the loop between the collar and tie.

Wrap the wide end around the narrow part one more time and slip up through the loop again.

Loosely stabilizing the knot, slip the wide end through it. Center the dimple and then tighten.
