I’m humbled by nominations — Vybrant Faya
Fast rising Ghanaian dancehall sensation, Vybrant Faya has expressed his pleasure at being recognised by the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards and the GN Bank People’s Choice Awards in their respective award nominations.
Vybrant Faya picked two nominations at this year’s VGMAs comprising New Artist of the Year and Best Reggae/Dancehall Song of the Year.
Speaking about his nomination, the Mampi hit maker hinted that the board of the VGMA should be applauded for demonstrating confidence in the dancehall genre and more importantly demonstrating support for promising brands.
“I believe that my inclusion in the awards is as a result of hard work and dedication and the fact that the people of Ghana have accepted my style of music”, he said.
The VGMAs, which is Ghana’s premier musical recognition scheme, is scheduled to take place at the Accra International Conference Centre on Saturday April 11 when a number of Ghana’s top musical talents and industry players will converge to reward excellence in musical performance for the year 2014.
Seen as the next big thing to steer the African dancehall culture, Vybrant Faya’s song Mampi, continues to enjoy considerable airplay since its release.
The song was nominated in the recently held 2015 Ghana DJ Awards for the category of Best DJ Song for the year 2014 and also as Best People’s Song in the upcoming GN Bank Awards.
