A. B. Crentsil, M.anifest sing for clean beaches in Ghana

imagesHi-life great, A. B. Crentsil and hiphop artiste, M.anifest are joining forces to help keep Ghana’s beaches clean.

The two, have therefore collaborated to record ‘Ye Wo Adze Oye’ (refix), inspired by Crentsil’s popular hi-life song in the late seventies, to help with the campaign.

The song, according to a statement, is in support of the NShoreNa project, an initiative by a Ghanaian World Bank staff, Kafui Kofi Tsikata, to bring attention to his country’s beaches.

The initiative highlights local tourism and investment potential as well as stressing the need for a healthy and clean shoreline.

This is about valuing what we have and protecting it rather than waiting for someone to come and place a value on it for us, Tsikata said.

‘NshoreNa’, a Ga word, sounds and means the same as ‘Shore’ in English.

‘Ye Wo Adze Oye (refix)’, the statement added brings to the fore “Ghana’s beaches, stretching from the eastern border town of Aflao in the Volta Region, to Half Assini in the Western Region.”
