ACCRA [dot] Alt to project Ghanaian creativity

Redd Kat Pictures, a multimedia company, is set to hold the first ever annual ACCRA [dot] Alt showcase Saturday December 18 at the Alliance Française.

ACCRA [dot] Alt according to organisers, is a platform for alternative music and the arts. It incorporates musicians and designers who experiment on different things to showcase the cultural innovation of Ghanaian artistes.

The event will feature the eclectic collections of emerging artistes who infuse their work with history and imagination, western and African personality, technology and avant-garde expression.

ACCRA [dot] Alt will showcase exciting events that include a fashion show, live concert performances, experimental short film screenings, photography exhibitions, interactive art installations, and deejaying.

There will also be a crafts marketplace filled with beautiful and interesting handmade goods for purchase.

Mantse Aryeequaye, Creative Director for Redd Kat Pictures in an interview with Myjoyonline.com said the event which will be an annual event will celebrate what is becoming a third force in Ghanaian music.

Manste said the one day event will see a lot of exciting artistes and acts in concert including Wanlov the Kubolor who will be making a first performance together with his Afro-Gypsy band in Ghana.

Other artistes who will perform at the event include Efya, Trigmatic, Chuxx, The Skillions, Nii Lantey, Mutambo, Kweku Anase and The Canz, an Atlanta-based Ghanaian hiphop duo.
