Africa Gospel Music Awards 2013 Closes Nominations

604156647_602016Africa Music Association, organisers African gospel's most prestigious annual event, the Africa Gospel Music Awards (AGMA), have announced that nominations for this year's AGMA will close today, Monday 13 days ago.

Therefore record labels, , music lovers, artistes and stakeholders are requested to log on to the AGMA website (www.africagospelawards.com) to submit their nominations while noting that the year under review to qualify any song or works that will be submitted for the final nomination list should span between 15The categories up for nominations this year are:

Song of the Year, Male Artiste of the Year, Female Artiste of the Year, Album of the Year, Group/Choir of the Year, Music Video of the Year, of the Year, Afro Jazz/Instrumental Musician of the Year, Discovery of the Year, Artiste of the Year East Africa, Artiste of the Year West Africa, Artiste of the Year Southern Africa, Artiste of the Year Central Africa, Artiste of the Year North Africa/Middle East, Artiste of the Year Europe, Artiste of the Year Canada/USA, Artiste of the Year Australia/Asia Pacific, Event of the Year, Gospel Radio Program of the Year, Gospel Radio Presenter of the Year, Gospel Program of the Year and Gospel TV Presenter of the Year.

This year's Africa Gospel Music Awards will be the fourth edition of the annual event and it promises to be bigger than ever. It is scheduled to take place on Saturday July 6 in the ultramodern Great Hall of Queen Mary's University in London, venue that recently underwent a three-million pound refurbishment. AGMA 2013 seeks to recognize and award many African gospel artistes and industry personalities who have excelled in their various fields and impacted lives in the year under review.

Headlining artistes billed for the July event include Cwesi Oteng (Ghana), Tehilla Crew (Nigeria), Deena Mwana (DR Congo), Charisma Hanekam (South Africa), plus other African gospel artistes from the diaspora.

Last year's event was a huge success and had many high profile personalities from the African music industry, media, corporate institutions, renowned record labels, Christian organisation, among others in attendance. If the much talked about euphoria and electric performances that marked the night last year are anything to go by then it will be another eventful night come July 6. Public voting begins on June 1 after nominations close on tonight and the final nomination list released.
