After The Elections, Many Artistes Will Lose Their Relevance For Supporting NPP/NDC – Ajeezay

Comedian, socialite and part-time musician, Nathaniel Mensah aka Ajeezay has sent a word of caution to celebrities in Ghana. According to him, many of them would no longer appeal to their fans because they’ve publicly declared their support for either the New Patriotic Party (NPP) or National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Well, this isn’t a fallacy but a reality since there are so many other instances to this effect. For instance, Maame Dokono and Kofi Adu aka Agya Koo were relegated to the background by some filmmakers after publicly supporting NPP. Also, Clement Bonney, known on the screen as ‘Mr Beautiful’ and Kwame Dzokoto of “Edziban” fame were ignored by some industry players after publicly supporting NDC.

There are so many other renowned people such as Great Ampong (NPP), Daddy Lumba (NPP), Rex Omar (NDC), Appietus (NPP), Lucky Mensah (NPP), Matilda Asare (NPP), Omane Acheampong (NPP), Michael Adangba (NDC), Dee Aja (NDC), etc who have all had ‘career issues’ for publicly supporting their preferred political party.

Also, some celebrities like John Dumelo and Bice Osei-Kuffour aka Obour went a step further by becoming candidates for NDC and NPP respectively.

Reacting to this trend, Ajeezay wrote;

“After the elections , new set of acts would be relegated… all because they publicly threw their support for party A or Party B …. all for the Kwacha ! I pray one day our people become wise and know that one could also succeed without supporting a political party !
Screenshot and keep for posterity! Thanks”
