Akokoa village gets a fair share of the national cake.
Every community’s desire is to benefit directly or indirectly from the national cake that is stuffed with the nation’s resources.
Some communities in Ghana have a lot of natural resources such as gold, bauxite, cocoa and others but when it comes to its development it is far worse than those who cannot boast of anything.
Sometimes people wonder how most capital towns are highly developed ahead of other towns even though those big towns may not have any natural resources to offer the country as a whole.
In the government’s bid to present the capital town as a developed place, they neglect a lot of places in the hinterlands that might have all the natural resources.
In the Atebubu-Amantin Constituency (Bono East), the government’s representative in the person of Honourable Edward Owusu is optimistic of more developments after the village of Akokoa was connected to the national grid. The village was seen as one of the few villages without electricity in the constituency.
Expressing joy, the opinion leaders of the village made it clear that the President has really surprised them and they’ll also surprise him in the 2020 General Election.
