AMG Criss Waddle: The Most Underrated Rapper In Africa
Talk of rap and you’ll have me sit down the whole day to ignite my interest in what I have followed for over a decade! Apart from writing, the next thing I do “well” in is listening and soaking on rap music. All over the world, I have listened to lots of rap tunes and I’ve developed the love for the genre.
The goosebumps I develop when listening to rap music is connected to its rhyme, rhythm, meter and all the other facets of a good poem. Raps are just like poem recitals and I love and live it when the persona is just perfect!
To me, rappers are the most underrated entertainers ever. This is a global issue but Ghanaians’ own is a bit extreme. We see rappers who are unable to blend the Queen’s language with that of the local dialects as losers. But, if I may ask, when was the last time Drake, Eminem, Kanye West or Lil Wayne rap in Twi? And would they even do that?
Following carefully and listening to rap music in Ghana should make you develop love for Michael Owusu Addo aka Sarkodie. Regretfully, one person we do not even think so much about is the Arab Money Gang (AMG) boss, Criss Waddle — the man who introduced Samuel Adu Frimpong aka Medikal (MDK) into the rap game, groomed him for 6 years before he (MDK) exploded all over the country.
Even though Criss Waddle has a handful of tracks to his record, he is just a phenomenon rapper anything he enters into the studio. Listening to his tracks like “King Kong”, ” Bokorr De3″ and the rest will make you appreciate lyrical perfection from the AMG Don. And recall that he is the only person Sarkodie has publicly tipped to be the best rapper because he gave him (Sark) a tough time on “Kasahari Level” with Pope Skinny a few years ago.
So, why are we sleeping on Criss Waddle? That guy is a rap demi-god worthy of ‘worship’ from rap lovers!
