ARE WOMEN DEVILS OF STARDOM?

imagesI believe you were not a whit surprised when it came out that Winnie Mandela, ex-wife of South African former President Nelson Mandela had offered her granddaughter to Ghanaian midfielder Kevin Prince Boateng to marry, promising she would sponsor the whole marriage ceremony if Kevin consented to the proposal.

This is not an anecdotal evidence to the fact that male celebs the world over receive love proposals from a lot of women and are often times ‘chased’ by women. Most male stars have said on several platforms that women would not leave them alone. I was gobsmacked when once watching a Slim Busterr performance on television with a female friend, she actually expressed her admiration and lust for Slim Busterr, saying she would be the happiest woman on earth if she happened to sleep with Slim just for once.

The story is also told of a handsome and talented music star who was ‘accosted’ by a female fan of his after one of his shows, requesting that he (the artiste) went with her to the wash room to have sex with her. There are also some women who ditch their boyfriends when they are ‘nobody’ and try reconciling with them when the boyfriends become stars. Hmmmm, women!

I hope I am not described by the female advocates as a misogynist for writing on this subject. Some people, especially, the feminists may ask why I did not write on the topic:”Are the Opposite Sexes Devils of Stardom?” No, that is not the import of this discourse. Pardon me for my ‘objective bias’ towards women in this piece.

I opted for this topic because it is male stars that mostly experience this phenomenon. So we are dealing with a majority group here not the minority.

Different factors cause the attraction of people to others at different times. And this, though prevalent in other professions as well, obtains most in show business.

One thing that draws women to male stars is fame. Most women would want to be recognized and they think they could do so by ingratiating with celebs and fall in love with them. For instance, a woman would deploy all her wiles to be the girlfriend of say Kojo Oppong Nkrumah or Sarkodie so that they would be referred to as such.

Other women would also propose to male stars because they smell cash on them. So if you are a star and you are unlucky to meet such women, they will milk you to your delight and satisfaction. There are also women who get attracted to a star because of their looks. I strongly believe it was Kevin Prince Boateng’s good looks which made Winnie Mandela think he would be a good hubby to her granddaughter.

People in the creative arts, for example, are conceived of by many as demigods because of their ability to ‘create’ and bring that which never existed into existence. This is another reason why most women admire and tend to express their ‘love’ for male celebrities.

Now that women are being empowered to propose to men they dig, it would be fine if women propose to stars but the issue is these male celebrities should be cautious in dealing with them because most of these women are agents of the devil. The moment you give in to their proposal you are on the threshold of disintegrating into shreds. You would be plunged in the abyss of misery. And that is when your fortunes and your career begin to dwindle.

Most married and unmarried male celebrities take advantage of the women draped all over them to ‘mess around’. Well, some would say it is individual choice but there is no denying that most male showbizers are now miserable because they did not know how to manage the plenty women at their beck and call.

Could you believe, dear reader, that some guys go into show business because they think being a star could be an open sesame to taking their Don Juanism to higher heights?

It is good Kevin revealed to the whole world he was married and that he was not interested in adding another wife.(hope it is not a kinda subterfuge to deceive the public). He said his wife has helped shape his life and that at least tells us how useful women can be to men’s life.

However, the fact that there are some women out there to disorganize the lives of male celebrities cannot be disputed. Beware guys!!!
