Asem Vrs Sarkodie; The Aftermath of “Sub Zero”

Nana Wiafe Asante-Mensah aka Asem as a rapper, singer, songwriter and actor really entertained real rap lovers back in the days until he suddenly vanished into thin air – supposedly went to seek for greener pastures overseas. Whilst Asem was far away from home, people like Shatta Wale, Sarkodie and Stonebwoy were busy back home grooming themselves as ‘local champions’.

Well, the GH Music hype is now revolving around these local champs.

No one can readily tell what necessitated Sarkodie’s release of the “Sub Zero” diss track but it was allegedly targeted at Asem, Shatta Wale, Ball J and others. But, as it stands now, the lyrical battle has recruited more peeps than fans envisaged. Yaa Pono, Teephlow, Strongman Burner, Cabum, Barima Sidney, Reggie Rockstone and others have all entangled themselves with this beef.

But, was the beef really meant for only Asem and Sarkodie? Why the other artistes now?
