Attack on me is real not a publicity stunt – Kofi B insists

275855604_702824Hi-life musician Kofi B, known in real life as Kofi Boakye Yiadom is insisting that he was brutally attacked by unidentified thugs last Monday night, April 29.

Kingsley Addai, a close friend of Kofi B had told Adom News last Tuesday that the singer had just finished a studio session and while he was returning to his car, six unidentified men approached him and attacked him without any provocation.

Barely 24 hours after news had gone viral that the alleged attack never happened and that the story was a publicity stunt, the musician still maintains he was attacked.

Kofi B, who had no physical bruises or injuries on him, stormed the offices of Myjoyonline.com Monday morning to provide proof of the incident.

He said it had been his intention to keep the issue out of the public’s eye because this is not the first time he has been attacked by thugs.

The Afia Donkor hit singer narrated that the first incident occurred in December just after the elections when some unidentified thugs broke his car windows and left a note on it that said: “You will see”.

According to him, he sprayed the car after that incident only to be attacked four months later by possibly the same thugs who made away with some items from the car. He lodged a formal complaint to the police after the second attack.

Did not report to the police but fixed the car

Kofi B noted that just when he thought all was over, the thugs attacked him late that Monday night and meted out severe beatings on him, stole some parts of the car and warned him never to report the incident to the police.

He said, he did not want to make a fuss about the matter and wondered why he will create a false story just to get public attention especially when he is contemplating quitting music.

He said, contrary to earlier accounts that the incident happened in front of a studio in Haatso, he was attacked just when he was taking a dip along the road leading to Taifa from the Atomic roundabout.

Although he did not report the last incident to the police, he has fixed the ‘damaged’ parts of the car and believes that the thugs are constantly monitoring his moves.

The hi-life musician observed that his friend, Kingsley Addai who gave an account of the incident to Adom FM, was not well informed about the issues and therefore could not give a better report of it.

Kofi B lamented that he has spent hundreds of Ghana cedis on repairing the car. The last attack, for instance, cost him about GH¢600.

Asked what might have fueled the attack, he stressed that he is very jovial and therefore has no issue with anybody to warrant the attacks on him.

He disclosed that he will get personal security to protect him and also plan not to drive or walk alone at night to avert future attacks.
