Award Organizers In Ghana Need To Be Credible – Ama K. Abebrese

in an interview on the Kapital Entertainment Unplugged Show on Saturday that the law does not forbid any individual or organized bodies from organizing an awards with the intents of encouraging and appreciating deserving persons however, she asked that organizers only “needed to be credible and well organized.”

Answering questions if she had ever been nominated in an awards she didn’t deserve to be nominated and how she felt, Ama K. Abebrese responded in the affirmative although she would not mention names. She said, “In times like that, you only create for yourself unnecessary enemies but one thing you need to do is to be clearly justified in your actions and such awards that are not really credible do not last.”

Adding to the assertion, entertainment pundit and columnist of Graphic Showbiz, Francis Doku believed award organizers needed to have the right intents and asked they do not set up the scheme as a profit making venture although that might come to play. He added with the right intents, organizers would build very credible awards schemes.

With all these said, who really has the right to set up and organize an awards scheme? Organized bodies or private individuals?
