“Backbiting is killing Ghanaian actors”- Vicky zugah

Actress Vicky Zugah has indicated on Brunch2Lunch aired on Radio Univers 105.7 that actors do everything possible to sabotage one another following past grudges they might have had.

In an interview with the host of the program, Abrantepa, Vicky stated that the act caused her a movie role.

“You get to a point where the people you started with beginning to backbite out of jealousy and previous scuffles. If they are closer to a producer who wants to feature you in a movie, they attempt to blacklist you,” she said.

Adding, “I know of a lady who has said she will sabotage me because I asked a producer not to use her some years ago. She is now a friend to a producer of a movie I was supposed to star in. She told someone that because of experience with me, she will sabotage me. And she did. We get backbiting a lot, especially the ladies.”

The actress recounted that, the act of backbiting is not the only canker bedeviling the industry.

Some producers ask for something in return of a movie role and the requests vary from proclaiming that the two are lovers, warming their beds, giving them flight tickets and many others.
