Ban on public gatherings extended for the next two weeks – Prez’s 8th address


President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has extended the ban placed on public gatherings for the next two weeks amid COVID-19 pandemic in the country.

Delivering his 8th National Address to the citizenry, he made it clear that this is part of measures put in place to contain and halt the rapid spread of the Coronavirus.

Among other things, the President bemoaned how unpatriotic some Ghanaians are behaving by “smuggling foreigners through unapproved border points” into the country. He further explained how these foreigners, when caught and tested come out with positive cases.

He warned those ‘heartless’ Ghanaians to desist from such an act or be prepared to face the laws of the land.
