Barima Sings For NPP 2012

Surprisingly, Barima has explained that it was former President Rawlings who inspired him to write and sing the song, ‘Ebu Bo Ba’, which talks about a particular leader who would leave his shoes behind and ran away from his followers in 2012 because of failed promise and massive corruption.

News-One can confirm that Barima Sidney is making preparations to give autographed copies of the controversial song to Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings. Perhaps, this may be because the song also talks about how angry the Rawlings family has been after Nana Konadu lost the flag-bearership contest to President Atta Mills.

The song is sarcastic and criticizes politicians who feed fat on the taxpayer’s sweat yet, expect to get the votes of the same taxpayer. The second stanza however talks about fake Christian leaders who exploit their church members for financial gains and sexual pleasure.

According to Barima Sidney, he had the song’s chorus, “Ga Dim Dim Ga Dem…Ga Dim Dim Ga Dem” from a story told by former President Rawlings about some people who disrespected their leader so much that every night, they would disturb him with ‘kolomashi’ music that sounded “Ga Dim Dim Ga Dem…Ga Dim Dim Ga Dem”.

The musician has however explained that he is not a politician and will not go on a platform to officially endorse the candidature of the candidate of any political party.

“I am a professional musician and just as a professional doctor or a lawyer would offer his service to a politician, I can do same without necessarily endorsing that politician’s candidature. I can attend your rallies and perform for you all right but it does not mean I have endorsed your candidature,” he explained.
