BDNP presents…Ghana’s 55TH Independence Concert

New York, New York_ On March 10th, 2012, back by popular demand, Boogie Down Nima Productions (BDNP) will host the most highly anticipated event of 2012, Ghana’s 55th Independence Concert. The event will be held in the heart of New York City at the elegant and plush Armenia Hall Ballroom, 630 Second Ave, New York, NY 10016 from 9p.m.to 3a.m. This event will be the premier independence celebration of the year bringing out the hottest Ghanaian artists on the scene.

Headlining the stage this year is the one and only Vision In Progress aka V.I.P. The highly successful international trio will be hitting the stage performing notable hits like Obaa Sweetie, Ahomka Womu, Besin, and Away…plus more off their upcoming album. Named Artist of the Year in 2011 by the Ghana Music Awards, V.I.P. continues to mystify the people of Africa, here in the U.S. and abroad with their sensational and electrifying music. The Ghanaian born group, over the last ten years has sold over 500,000 records, making them one of the best selling hiplife recording group’s in Ghana. Launching their Vision In Progress International Tour, they will make New York City’s Ghana scene their first stop! Commemorating Ghana’s 55th Independence this year V.I.P., will be lighting up the stage with an entourage of notable hip life artists.

Added to the performance roster this year… is Ghana’s rising sensation and the hottest female hip life artist currently burning up Africa’s music scene, “Queen of Azonto”…Tiffany. Representing for the ladies, this Ghanaian Afro-pop artist with hit singles like “Fake London Boy” and “Azonto” is also popularly known for several critically acclaimed collaborations with chart topping artists like Fuse, Castro, Jayso, Sarkodie, and Killbeatz. Also blazing the stage will be the Fruits of Inspiration (FOI) and several surprise performers.

New York City will be set on fire at this year’s Ghana 55th Independence Concert. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Youth Institute of Science & Technology {YIST}; a rural based school located in Agogo, Ghana.
