In every democratic dispensation, periodic exercising of one’s franchise is necessary. All free and fair elections are organised to see the actual choice of the citizenry at both local and national level.
In Ghana for instance, at the end of every electoral tenure (4years), Members of Parliament and a President are elected to represent the people per the requirements of the constitution.
Since our friends who suffer some deficiencies in life such as the blind and others are also citizens and exercise their voting rights as soon as they turn 18 years, Dr. Obeng Asamoah, the Director of the Ghana Blind Union, has cautioned Ghanaians on them.
Speaking to a renowned radio station, he pleaded with Ghanaians who guide blind folks to vote during elections to be honest to them. He added that, since they’re visually impaired and cannot see, those assisting them should not take advantage and cheat them by choosing different candidates for them.
