“BEAUTYFUL NONSENSE” REPEATS AT ARTS CENTRE
After a successful production at the National Theatre of Ghana on 11th April, 2015, Beautyful Nonsense repeats at the Accra Centre for National Culture (Arts Centre) Amphi Theatre.
Set in the emblematic 21st Century Ghanaian environment, BEAUTYFUL NONSENSE paints the ideal political twist of two families who are always at each other’s throat because of their strong allegiances to the two main opposing political parties in the country, the NPP and the NDC. No attempt to undermine the candidature or pedigree of their avowed party leaders by a neighbour is taken lightly – it is a boot for boot situation. Turning fighting, insults and attacks on the persona of their opponents into a daily exercise, these two families’ “sickening” and almost immature arguments gets their irritated landlord to capitalise on the situation, increasing their rent. Perhaps there could be a consensus among these neighbours in sight when this development rears its ugly head up. Or would it be another avenue to spark more fire and venom? Or, is it just a BEAUTYFUL NONSENSE?
