Black Friday:More than 60 feared dead and 40 others severely injured in a fatal accident at Kintampo – Techiman highway.

At least 60 people are feared dead in a fatal accident involving two buses on the Kintampo and Techiman highway in the Bono East region, and close to 40 others in critical condition.

The accident happened early this morning between the hours of 1:30 AM and 2 AM at Ampoma Krom according to reports.

Reports suggest that some of the bodies are burnt to ashes and some others could not be identified as a results of how the bodies are being cut to abrupt pieces.

Reports states again that, the buses with registration number GT 3915- 17 VVIP Akai buss loaded from Garu heading towards Kumasi collided with a Grand Bird buss with registration number GT 5694-18 loaded from Accra and heading towards Bolga Tanga.

Reports says that, one of the bus gut fire after the collision resulting in the burnt of the victims.

“None of the drivers has survived the accident” Kintampo Municipal Fire Commander (DO3) Mr. Ankomah Twene has stated.

According to claims, the driver of the VVIP buss loaded from Garu heading towards Kumasi, who has been burnt to death was dozing, however, some of the passengers alerted him to park off but he insisted to move on hence the cause of the accident.

At the moment the police and fire service have counted 60 persons dead (young and old).

Others in critical condition have been transported to Jema, Kintampo and Techiman hospitals respectively for emergency treatment.
