Ghana’s radio presenter extraordinaire and host of Drive Time on Joy 99.7 FM, Nathaniel Kwabena Anokye Adisi known in entertainment circles as Bola Ray will be awarded Ghana’s Showbiz Personality of the year award at the 14th City People Awards for excellence.
He will be honoured with that special award at the crème de la crème awards ceremony scheduled to take place this Sunday March 27 at the Balmoral Events Centre in Oregun – Lagos.
Bola Ray, who also doubles as the CEO of Empire Entertainment, since stepping into the entertainment industry has achieved several laurels; cementing his name as one of the shakers of the Ghanaian entertainment industry today.
The City People Awards which is in its third year was established to reward and recognise deserving personalities, in Nigeria and the West African sub-region, who have excelled in their fields of endeavour in the previous year and also recognize their outstanding contributions to various fields in entertainment.
Tagged as “Ghana’s No 1 On-Air Personality” by the organizers, Bola Ray will be treated to a double dose of rewards as organizers will use the occasion to celebrate his birthday which fell on March 1 at a grand reception and after party at the First Floor Night Club in Lagos Nigeria.
This year’s ceremony will award several personalities in different spheres of life with eight of the awards going to the showbiz industry.
Battling it out for the Musician of the Year category are; 2face and 9ice whiles Producer of the Year category will be fought for by Don Jazzy, K.Solo, Samklet and Sosick.
Actresses; Stephanie Okereke, Rita Dominic, and Genevieve Nnaji have been nominated for the Hottest Face of Nollywood category while Best Actress of the Year will be battled for by Tonto Dike, Stephanie Okereke, Uche Jumbo, Nuella Ojuigbe and Desmond Elliot respectively.
Music duo, P-Square are up for the Music Group of the Year award whiles actor Desmond Elliot have been nominated in the Best Actor category.
Ghanaian actress, Juliet Ibrahim will be presenting an award at the event with Martin Rasheed, popularly known as DJ Rexy will rock the turn tables treating dignitaries to good music.
This will not be the first time a Ghanaian is picking up awards at the prestigious event – Last year, the Swagger Boys, Ruff N Smooth won Ghana’s Music Group of the Year with actress Jackie Appiah also picking up an award for the Best Ghanaian and African actress.
