Chase Angry At Mahama Over Dumsor

Ghanaian musician Chase Forever has said President John Mahama and his government are exhibiting poor communication skills in the handling of the current energy crisis dubbed dumsor.

According to Chase, born Fianko Bossman, Ghanaians deserve better than the current reactions from government and its National Democratic Congress appointees who mostly heap insults on persons who complain about the president’s inability to fix the crisis.

His comment comes less than a week after some top female celebrities were labelled ‘prostitutes’, menopause ladies and other unprintable words by activists of the ruling party over an ongoing #DumsorMustStop campaign.

“The insults must stop,” Chase told NEWS-ONE yesterday.

“My problem with President John Mahama, besides everything, is the poor communication he and his people are exhibiting. He has been poor in communication. As the president you are in a relationship with your country. When you make a promise every step of the way, you must update the people about it. We are humans, we will understand; but you tell us that you have a dead goat syndrome. How can we communicate with a dead goat?” Chase asked.

More and more celebrities are joining the ongoing #DumsorMustStop campaign to compel the current John Mahama-led government to fix the continuous energy crisis.

Among them are EL, Joselyn Dumas, D Black, Ama K Abebrese, Confidence Haugen and Efya.

The rest include Nikki Samonas, Deborah Vanessa, Eddie Watson, DKB and Kweku Elliot.

Chase and Van Vicker are the latest celebrities to voice their displeasure at the power crisis.

According to Van, Ghanaians have been quiet over the issue for so long and can no longer bear the negative effects of the crisis on their lives.

The actor made his concerns and frustrations public in a letter that is currently circulating on social media.

Below is Van Vicker’s #DumsorMustStop letter:

We have gotten to that point where we can no longer stay quiet because we have given our leaders the benefit of the doubt to solve dumsor but the situation has only gotten worse.

I am distressed because authorities saw this coming but looked us in the face and told us ‘stories’; stories we didn’t want to believe but took their word.

Now many nights as I turn into my neighbourhood, I see blackness all around and I think to myself, ‘how in God’s name did we get to this point?’ As frustrating as the economy is, dumsor has come to exacerbate our plight.

With our hard earned money we have to buy generators, inverters or solar panels when same cash could be put in an investment to better our lives.

Where is the sense of empathy from our rulers? We are getting laid off by our employers. TV advertisers are withdrawing their commercials because people don’t watch TV much no more [sic]. Movies purchasing power has declined some more; if you hardly have lights why purchase the movies? We filmmakers have serious production and post production challenges because of dumsor.

It’s unfortunate for anyone to say that celebrities are advocating for?#?dumsormuststop because of our comfortability. It’s far beyond that. It’s all stressful and a waste of time on basics that shouldn’t take up limited time [sic].

It’s rather pathetic and unforgiving that we have to plan our lives and businesses around dumsor.
