City People honours Bola Ray, Empire Entertainment with awards

City People Group of Companies, publishers of City People Magazine on the 21st of June, 2014 honoured Kwabena Adisi aka Bola Ray in Lagos, Nigeria as the Biggest Ghanaian Showbiz Executive, while his Empire Entertainment scooped the 2014 Entertainment Company of the Year. These accolades came for their contribution to the growth of Ghana showbiz.

Empire Group of Companies which consists of event promotions, public relations, advertising and marketing company and operating in Ghana is one of the biggest showbiz outfits in Ghana.

The event took place at The Place-Papazz in Victoria Island, Lagos, and was attended by friends, well wishers and fans alike. Among the popular faces on the night were: actress Kafui Danku, Edem, top model Victoria Michaels, award winning PR consultant MC Senator, Phyno, DJ Humility, among others.

GhanaWeb Entertainment Desk in a chat with City People Ghana Correspondent, Tope Aileru, said, “we reward nothing but the best in every field and if you follow the trend of entertainment and who is behind the top notch yearly event, it is clear that Empire Group is behind it. Basically, their contribution so far has been immense.”

While receiving the award, Bola Ray said, “I am humbled at the gesture from one of the biggest magazine publishing house in Africa. I want to further dedicate this award to my hardworking staff. They deserve it more because they make everything happen. They are the driving force to the successful outcome everyone sees out there.”

He went on to inform the esteem fans that the relationship between Ghana and Nigeria had just begun, thus, soon there will be Naija meets Ghana concert in Nigeria.

Bola Rays Many Awards

Bola Ray is a MTN brand ambassador as well as an ambassador of the SOS Villages, Ghana. He was also awarded Ghana’s Most Popular Showbiz Personality at the City People Excellence Awards 2011 in Nigeria. In April 2011, he was honoured at the Vector recognition Awards 2010 as a Professional Radio Presenter for the year 2010.

Recently, he became the winner of a 2013 MBA Business Idea Competition. A MBA Business Idea Competition, which was put together by the Altis Business School, Catholic University of Milan, Italy. In 2013, he was awarded the Entertainment Entrepreneur of the Year 2013 at the 4th edition of Ghana Entrepreneur Awards.

And at the 24th Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana (CIMG) Performance Awards held in 2013, Bola Ray’s Drive Time on Joy Fm was adjudged Radio Programme of the Year.
