Close to 10,000 unwanted pregnancies recorded in 3 weeks of lockdown -National Population Council reveals

There is a looming epidemic in Ghana as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. While the president was locking down the country partially perhaps he did not envisage the cost it would have come with.

Withing the three weeks partial lockdown the pregnancy rate in Ghana has skyrocketed according to information revealed by the National Population Council.

 

Speaking in an interview on TV3, the Executive Director of the National Population Council, Dr. Leticia Adelaide Appiah made this known stating that the lockdown has increased the number of pregnancies in Ghana within the last 3 weeks.

In her submission, she said there have been about 9,000 unwanted pregnancies as a result of the three weeks partial lockdown imposed in some parts of the country.
